Above is our audience research. We considered what the audience would want to see and read about in a professional and attractive music magazine cover. We also asked questions regarding their favorite artists to get some ideas to what images to use in our magazine spread.

Initial ideas

Magazine First Ideas.
We have been discussing some initial ideas that we have had for our magazine just to get us started and we have decided to focus on the pop genre of music, this is because it is a very popular genre of music that leaves the magazine open to quite alot of different colours, graphics and styles. The fact that we are concentrating on the pop genre means that we are aiming for a more youthful target audience, 14-21. We have decided that our colour palette will definitley consist of bright vibrant colours to create contrast within our magazine. we are also very keen on the idea of using a simplisic styled magazine containing mainly the colours red black white and grey, we think this will look effective without looking to buzy. We have come up with a few magazine names such as, Tune, Tunedin, Noisy, Splash, Pluggedin, but we have not at the time decided on the actually name we will use meaning we might have to do some more research or questionaires into what name we should choose.

Introduction

Hi, on the left is Harry and on the right is Alice.

In this blog we will independantly and cooperatively be researching music magazines and how they are developed and created to present the genre and style sutiable to the audience. We will be exploring how POP magazines use images, text, font, layout and formatting to sell their product and appeal it to the audience. All the features we research to be effective will be used and considered when we create our own pop music magazine. This will help us to understand the requirements for a successful and appealing magazine.
The genre we chose to focus on was POP, the reason being because there is a certain image and impression that pop magazines require and we will find it positevly challenging to meet the demands and specific style and fonts.
